Make an Image Background Transparent
Click a colour to make it transparent: logos, signatures, flat backgrounds.
Best on flat backgrounds: logos, scans, screenshots and product shots on white. For photos of people or hair, the AI background remover does a better job.
Logos on a white background, scanned signatures, clip art, screenshots of icons: when the background is one flat colour, you don’t need AI to remove it. Click that colour and it becomes transparent.
The tolerance slider decides how close a colour has to be to disappear — raise it for scans with slightly uneven paper, lower it if parts of the subject start vanishing. Soft edges keep anti-aliased outlines from looking jagged.
It runs instantly in your browser and saves a PNG. For photos where the background is a real scene — people, pets, products on a table — the AI background remover is the right tool.

- Adjust the tolerance until the edges look clean.

Frequently asked questions
Why is some of my logo disappearing too?
Part of it is close to the background colour. Lower the tolerance until only the background goes.
There’s a light halo around the edges.
That’s the old background blended into the anti-aliased edge. Raise the tolerance a little and keep “Soften edges” on.
Can I remove a background that isn’t one colour?
Not with this tool. Use the AI background remover, which understands the subject rather than a colour.
