This is one of three tools here that need our server: the AI model has to run somewhere powerful enough to be fast on every device, phones included. Your image is sent over HTTPS, processed in memory and never saved to disk.

Images larger than 1000 px on the longest side are shrunk before upscaling.

Stretching a small image makes it bigger and blurrier. An AI upscaler does something different: it predicts the detail a sharper version would have, so edges stay crisp and textures stay textured at 4× the size.

Good candidates: old digital photos, images saved from the web, thumbnails, screenshots that need to go on a slide, product photos a supplier sent too small.

Compare with the before/after slider, then download. Images larger than 1000 pixels are shrunk first — upscaling is for small images, and a big one doesn’t need it.

Frequently asked questions

Can it recover a blurry or out-of-focus photo?

Only partly. It sharpens detail that was too small, but it can’t know what a badly blurred face really looked like and may invent plausible features.

2× or 4×?

4× turns a 500-pixel image into 2000 pixels, enough for print. 2× keeps more natural textures on photos that are only slightly too small.

Why does this one use a server?

The model needs a lot of computation; doing it on the server keeps it fast on every phone. The image is processed in memory and never stored.
