Business card sites are usually free to design and then sell you the printing. This one just gives you the file: design it, export the PDF, and take it wherever you like — a local printer, an online one, or your own card stock.
Three standard sizes, because there is no single world standard: 85 × 55 mm across most of Europe, 3.5 × 2 inches in the US and Canada, and 90 × 50 mm in Australia and parts of Asia. Pick the one your printer uses.
These canvases are 300 DPI, not the 150 used for posters — a card is read at 30 cm, where the difference is obvious. Keep the text at least 4 mm from the edge so nothing important is lost when the sheet is guillotined.
How to use it
- Pick the size your printer works in.
- Load the classic or dark template.
- Replace the name, the role and the contact lines.
- Export as PDF at 300 DPI and send it to be printed.
Frequently asked questions
What is the standard business card size?
It depends where you are: 85 × 55 mm in most of Europe, 3.5 × 2 in (88.9 × 50.8 mm) in the US and Canada, 90 × 50 mm in Australia. All three are in the size menu.
Is the export good enough for professional printing?
Yes. The canvas is 300 DPI at card size and the PDF carries the true millimetre dimensions, which is what a print shop asks for.
What about bleed and safe margins?
The design is trim-size with no bleed. Keep text at least 4 mm inside the edge. If your printer requires 3 mm bleed, ask for their template — a trim-size PDF usually still works but backgrounds may not reach the cut edge perfectly.
Can I design the back of the card too?
Design it as a second card and export a second PDF. Printers expect front and back as two files anyway.
Can I add a QR code to my card?
Yes — make one with the <a href="/qr-code-generator/">QR code generator</a>, download the PNG, then add it here as a photo layer. Keep it at least 1.5 cm across so phones can read it off paper.
Do I have to order printing through you?
There is nothing to order. This site only makes the file; what you do with it is entirely yours.
