Make a poster

Design a poster at A4, A3 or A2 and export a PDF the print shop can actually use.

Templates

Three templates — an event bill, a minimal gallery poster and a colour-block announcement — on A4, A3 or A2, portrait. Switch paper size at any point and the design rescales to fit rather than starting over.

The part that matters for printing: export as PDF, not PNG. A PDF carries the real physical size, so a print shop knows an A3 poster is 297 × 420 mm. A PNG is just a pile of pixels, and someone at the other end has to guess how big you meant it — which is how posters come back at the wrong scale.

The canvases are 150 DPI at their paper size, which is the usual sweet spot for something read from more than a metre away. For a poster that will be inspected close up, design at A4 and print it smaller.

How to use it

  1. Pick the paper size first — A4, A3 or A2, portrait.
  2. Load a template and replace the title, date and venue.
  3. Add your own photo as the background and darken it so the text stays readable.
  4. Set the format to PDF and download. It comes out at true paper size.

Frequently asked questions

Will this print properly?

Export the PDF rather than the PNG and yes — the page is created at the exact millimetre size of the paper you chose, so it prints at 100% with no scaling guesswork.

What resolution are the posters?

150 DPI at the chosen paper size (A3 is 1754 × 2480 pixels). That is right for a wall poster. True 300 DPI at A2 would need a canvas most phone browsers cannot allocate, which is why it is not offered.

Is there a bleed area?

No. These are laid out to the trim size, so keep text a good centimetre inside the edge. If your printer insists on bleed, ask them for a template and design with wide margins.

Can I print it at home?

Yes. Download the PDF, open it, and print at "actual size" or 100% rather than "fit to page" — A3 artwork on A4 paper will otherwise be silently shrunk.

Can I use my own photo?

Yes, as the background or as a layer you can move and resize. It stays on your device — nothing is uploaded, which is the same for every tool here.
