Make a photo strip
Stack four photos into a classic photobooth strip, sized to print at 2 × 6 inches.
Add two or more photos. They fill the layout in the order you add them, and you can reorder or swap them afterwards.
Layout
The vertical photobooth strip: four pictures stacked, white borders between them, the shape that has been coming out of booths since the 1920s. The default canvas here is the real thing — 2 × 6 inches at 300 DPI, which is the size photo labs print strips at.
Photobooth photos are close-up and square-ish, so portrait shots crop well into these slots. Drag inside any frame to centre a face that has ended up off to one side.
Three or two frames are offered too, for shorter strips and for bookmarks.
How to use it
- Drop in your photos — four for a classic strip.
- Drag inside each frame to centre the faces.
- Keep the background white for the traditional look, or change it.
- Download, and print at 2 × 6 inches if you want the real thing.
Frequently asked questions
What size is a photobooth strip?
The classic strip is 2 × 6 inches, which is the default here at 300 DPI (600 × 1800 pixels). Photo labs print that size as standard, often several to a sheet.
How many photos should I use?
Four is the traditional strip. Three and two are offered as well — two makes a reasonable bookmark.
Can I print it at home?
Yes. Print at actual size on photo paper and cut it out; a 6 × 4 inch sheet fits a strip with room to trim. Do not use "fit to page", which will scale it.
Why do my photos look cropped?
Each frame is roughly square and your photos probably are not. Drag inside a frame to choose which part is kept, or raise the spacing so each frame is smaller relative to its photo.
Can I use my webcam to take the photos?
Not on this page, but the <a href="/webcam-test/">webcam test</a> will let you check your camera, and any photos you take with your phone can be dropped straight in.
