Scheduling across time zones is fine until daylight saving gets involved: Europe and the United States change on different dates, the southern hemisphere goes the other way, and some places never change at all.
Pick a date and time, a zone it’s in, and a zone you want it in. The conversion uses your browser’s own time-zone database, so the rules — including the transition dates — are the ones your system was shipped with.
Because a specific date is involved, the answer is right for that date rather than for today’s offset.

Does it handle daylight saving?
Yes, for the exact date you enter, which is the whole reason to convert for a date rather than an offset.
Why so many zone names?
They come from the IANA database your browser ships with — “Europe/Paris”, “America/New_York” and so on. Naming zones by city is how the rules stay correct as laws change.
What about UTC?
It’s in the list. UTC never changes for daylight saving, which is why it’s the sane choice for logs and schedules.
Is my time zone sent anywhere?
No. Everything is computed locally; the page simply asks your browser which zone it’s in as a starting point.
