Frequently asked questions
Will rotating lose quality?
A JPG is re-encoded once at high quality, which is visually indistinguishable but not mathematically identical. PNG and WebP are lossless. If you need a bit-perfect JPG rotation, a dedicated lossless JPEG tool is the only way.
Why does my photo look rotated already in my gallery but not elsewhere?
Because your gallery is reading the orientation flag in the file’s metadata, and the other program isn’t. Rotating here bakes the rotation into the pixels, which every program understands.
Can I rotate by an arbitrary angle?
Not here — this page does quarter turns, which is what straightening a sideways photo needs. For a small tilt correction you want a crop-and-straighten tool.
Does it work on a whole folder?
Yes. Drop in as many images as you like; each one is rotated with the same setting and you can download the lot as a ZIP.
