Crop an Image to 3:2
Get a 3:2 crop, the standard camera and 4×6 print ratio.
3:2 is the shape of the most common photo print — 6 × 4 inches, or 10 × 15 cm — and of DSLR and mirrorless camera sensors.
Phone photos are 4:3. Send one straight to a printing service and the lab trims it to 3:2 however it sees fit, often slicing through heads. Cropping yourself first decides what gets cut.
Crop all the photos of an order in the same session so the set looks consistent.

Which print sizes are 3:2?
6 × 4 in (10 × 15 cm), 12 × 8 in and 18 × 12 in. 5 × 7 and 8 × 10 are different shapes.
What resolution do I need for a good 6 × 4 print?
About 1800 × 1200 pixels (300 dpi). Any modern phone photo has far more.
Why did my prints come back cropped?
Because the photos were 4:3 and the paper is 3:2. Cropping before ordering prevents it.
