Convert CSV to JSON
CSV to JSON and back, with quotes, commas and separators handled properly.
Spreadsheets export CSV; APIs speak JSON. Converting between them is a two-minute job that becomes a two-hour job the moment a field contains a comma, a quote or a line break.
The parser here handles all of that: quoted fields, doubled quotes inside them, embedded newlines, and separators that aren’t commas — French and German exports often use semicolons, which it detects on its own.
The first row becomes the keys, so each following row turns into a tidy object. Going the other way, keys become the header row.

- Choose the direction and, if needed, the separator.
- Copy the result, or download it as a file.
Frequently asked questions
My file uses semicolons — will it work?
Yes. Detection is on by default and looks at the header line; you can also pick the separator yourself (comma, semicolon, tab, pipe).
What happens to a field containing a comma?
It was quoted in the CSV, so it stays whole. Going back to CSV, any field that needs quoting gets quoted again.
Are numbers converted?
No, values stay strings. That avoids the classic damage where a leading zero, a phone number or a long ID quietly changes.
Is my data sent anywhere?
No. Both directions run in your browser, which matters because CSVs are usually full of customer data.
