Frequently asked questions
Why are the PNG files so big?
PNG is lossless and not designed for photographs, so it stores every pixel exactly. That’s the point when editing, and a waste when sharing.
Is PNG better quality than JPG?
It avoids any further loss. It can’t add detail the camera didn’t capture, so for viewing, a high-quality JPG looks the same.
Do HEIC photos with depth or portrait effects convert?
The main image converts. Depth maps and other auxiliary images inside the HEIC are not carried over.
