Frequently asked questions
Does JPG to PNG improve quality?
No. It preserves the current quality exactly and prevents further loss, but the detail JPG already discarded can’t come back.
Will the PNG have a transparent background?
No. A JPG has no transparency to convert. To remove a background, use the background remover or the colour-to-transparent tool.
Why is the file so much bigger?
Lossless storage of a photo takes much more space. That’s expected.
